Diggerland USA is America’s Only Construction Amusement Park and Water Park where families can Drive, Ride, Soak & Slide. Diggerland provides a unique experience for our guests and team members. Dig up the best job under the sun! Compensation is based on experience starting $11 to $18 an hour.

Line cooks work in a fast-paced environment at all four of our dinning venues around the park. Team members interact with guests to provide an exceptional overall food experience. Positions include food preparation, cooking, and frying as well as taking orders, cashiering, and delivering orders. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.

Position Summary (including but not limited to):

• Responsible for the promotion of a safe and professional workplace through adhering to policies and procedures as outlined by Diggerland USA
• Prepares and cooks to order foods that require short preparation time utilizing the grill, fryer, oven and other various kitchen appliances/equipment
• Grilling, cooking and frying foods as specified for park operations, birthday’s and special events
• Prep party trays and platters
• Experience in allergy and food borne illness prevention
• Experience in KDS ordering systems
• Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills. Prioritizes and performs a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction.
• Maintains a clean, neat, and sanitized workstation and equipment at all times.
• Taking customer orders and preparing food to the recipes and their specifications with accuracy and order speed to ensure a great meal experience
• Planning and managing work orders to ensure all items of an order are finished and served at the same time
• Completed required opening and closing procedures, checklists and paperwork
• Must remain up to date on all current specials and promotions of the facility
• Have strong customer service skills; always greet guests with energy and a smile.
• Streamlines work from back of the house to front of the house to provide exceptional customer service
• Responsible for the promotion of a safe and professional workplace through adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the Diggerland USA handbook
• Must be flexible regarding scheduling based on business demands including but not limited to weekends, holidays, and special events
• Assists in merchandising functions including display, inventory receiving, stocking and daily record keeping, etc.
• Cash handling functions including POS system and registers
• Basic math skills as they apply to cash handling
• Must be responsible and able to follow instructions
• Must be a team player and able to work well with the other team members and management staff. Excellent multi-tasking and time management skills. Prioritizes and performs a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Serve Safe
• Cooking: 1+ year experience
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment
• Previous customer service or guest focused experience
• Previous cash handling experience
• Open availability on weekends, holidays and special events

Physical Demand:

• Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for long periods.
• Ability to work in a loud environment with flashing lights.
• Able to work in a fast pace environment.
• Able to work on small ladders.

Comments:

• Should be well groomed, neat, and polite.
• Daily work hours are subject to change throughout the park operating season due to attendance, weather, or unforeseen circumstances.
• Flexible regarding scheduling as it is based on business demands and weather
